iPrescott Business Solutions can help you grow your Prescott business with online marketing strategies. If you have a Google account, you probably received an email from Google letting you know about the shutdown of Google Plus. iPrescott Business Solutions offers some comments on what to expect for your Prescott business with the changes Google is making.

In December of 2018, Google announced that they would be shutting down Google Plus for consumers. Since the process of deleting information may take some months, Google has established a timeline to prevent a loss of information that may be valuable to you. For example, if you have had a Google Plus account, beginning February 4th, 2019, the ability to create new Google Plus profiles, pages, communities, or events was discontinued.

There are some FAQ pages that Google has set up to instruct users how and when to remove content before it is deleted. You must retrieve your information prior to April 2019 when the scheduled shutdown will occur and content from Google Plus consumer accounts is due to be deleted. This includes photos and videos in your Album Archive and on Google Plus pages. You can preserve the photos and videos by backing them up in Google Photos.

  • If you currently use Google Plus widgets, they will no longer be supported and they will be removed from your blog. This includes the Plus 1 Button, Google Plus Badge, and Google Plus Followers.
  • Effective April 2, 2019, any Google Plus pages that you’ve created will be shut down. You will no longer be able to sign in to apps or sites using the Google Plus sign-in button. Signing in to your Google account will not be affected as long as there is a Google sign-in button visible.
  • Google Plus Comments will be eliminated as well, and beginning April 2, 2019, all Google Plus Comments on all sites will be deleted. Blogs using this feature will be reverted back to Blogger comments. Unfortunately, none of the Google Plus comments will be migrated to Blogger and they will be gone.
